MLB strikeout props for 5/15: It's an Under kind of day

We went 1-1 with one rainout in our Tuesday night strikeout props, bringing our record to 3-2 on the week. Let's get those numbers up a bit with three more K props for Wednesday's MLB slate.

Austin Gomber under 3.5 Ks (-125 DraftKings)

Rockies at Padres, 4:10 p.m. ET

We don't want to keep picking on Austin Gomber, but we have to take his under whenever he's lined like this in a tough matchup. The Colorado Rockies lefty has gone under 3.5 Ks in three of his last four starts. Now he has to face a San Diego Padres lineup that ranks third in MLB in strikeout rate (19.6 percent). In 134 combined plate appearances against Gomber, current Padres hitters have a minuscule 9.0 percent strikeout rate. San Diego has a ton of familiarity with Gomber, and he's not an effective swing-and-miss pitcher to begin with.

Bryan Woo under 4.5 Ks (+130 DK)

Royals at Mariners, 4:10 p.m. ET

Bryan Woo is a capable strikeout artist, but it's hard to trust him right now. The Seattle Mariners starter began the season on the injured list due to elbow inflammation, and he left his debut early after feeling discomfort in his forearm. There's no guarantee Woo will make it past the third inning on Wednesday, and he's facing a Kansas City Royals lineup that has the second-lowest K rate in MLB (19.0 percent).

Logan Webb under 4.5 Ks (+100 DK)

Dodgers at Giants, 9:45 p.m. ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers know Logan Webb like the back of their hands. Current Dodgers hitters have faced Webb a combined 197 times, and they've recorded an 18.3 percent strikeout rate and a .401 xwOBA against him. The San Francisco Giants starter ranks 117th out of 124 qualified pitchers this season in whiff rate. He relies on forcing hitters to chase pitches out of the zone, but Los Angeles has the fourth-lowest chase rate and the seventh-highest chase contact rate in the league.
