The New England Patriots are known for taking care of one of their homegrown talents ahead of the 2024 regular season.
Earlier this month, the Patriots extended their 2020 second-round pick, safety Kyle Dugger, to a deal with a max of $58 million. They took care of their 2021 second-round pick early Monday morning.
Per multiple reports, the Patriots extended defensive tackle Christian Barmore to a deal worth a maximum of $92 million, of which $41.8 million will be guaranteed. Per Schefter, Barmore’s deal is the “largest non-Tom Brady contract” in New England’s history.

The Alabama standout had a breakout season in 2023. He recorded four sacks in his first two seasons in the league and 8.5 sacks during the 2023 regular season. He added 64 tackles to his production totals last season.
Per Pro Football Focus, Barmore was the eighth-highest-graded (83.8) defensive tackle in the league last season. He’ll be expected to be a leader on the defense following the extension.
