Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from Monte Carlo Masters, citing arm injury

However, the injury streak continued for the youngster. Ahead of his run at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters, Alcaraz had faced a minor setback during his practice sessions.

He took the court with a heavily taped right forearm, and according to tennis pundits, he even lacked intensity during those practices. Inevitably, Alcaraz withdrew from the Masters, citing the injury. In a recent Instagram post, the Spaniard dropped the sad news. 

Alcaraz posted that he has been trying to work on recovery, but won’t be fully fit in time, forcing him to drop out. This will be the second time that the Spaniard will miss the Masters event.

Carlos Alcaraz is set to miss the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters for the second consecutive year

Huge news in the tennis world as another big name pulled out of the upcoming Rolex Monte Carlo Masters. After Spanish great Rafael Nadal withdrew from the tournament, his compatriot Carlos Alcaraz also pulled out, citing a pronator teres injury. 

This is the second year in a row that Alcaraz has skipped this tournament. Last year, the 20-year-old was still recovering from arthritis in his left hand, and this year he suffered an injury on his right forearm. As it goes, the Spaniard is yet to open his quota in Monte Carlo. 

Alcaraz usually wins a majority of his points during this phase of the tour. With Madrid and others on the list, the Spaniard would get his momentum in check before the French Open. However, this year also, he would miss Monte Carlo and hope to return for the other tournaments.
